Lead Services & Resources

Rhode Island Lead Center

A state-funded program focused on lead-related case management, education, support, and coordination for families.

The BVCAP Rhode Island Lead Center provides non-medical case management, education, support, and resource coordination to families of children with elevated blood lead levels.

Lead Case Managers work directly with parents and caregivers to help them understand lead exposure, reduce the child’s risk of continued exposure, and navigate available services and resources.

Services may include:

  • Individualized case management and family support
  • Education about childhood lead poisoning and ways to reduce lead exposure
  • In-home education and assessment of family needs
  • Coordination and follow-up with the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) and other service providers
  • Support in understanding the lead inspection and follow-up process
  • Connections to community resources and supportive services
  • Education on maintaining a lead-safe environment and preventing further exposure
  • Ongoing support based on the needs of the child and family

When appropriate, the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) may provide a lead inspection to help identify potential sources of lead exposure in the child’s environment. The BVCAP Rhode Island Lead Center continues to support and educate families throughout the case management process.

Our goal is to reduce children’s exposure to lead, support families in creating safer environments, and provide parents and caregivers with the knowledge and resources needed to protect their child’s health.
