Weatherization Program

BVCAP’s Weatherization Program helps families save money on their energy bills and make their homes more comfortable.

To qualify, you must have a current LIHEAP application and meet program guidelines. Homeowners can apply. Renters may also qualify with permission from their landlord.

A trained Energy Auditor will visit your home and check how your home uses energy. They will look for ways to lower heating costs, improve comfort, and make your home safer.

If your home qualifies, local contractors may complete work at no cost to you. Services may include:

Insulation
Sealing air leaks
Heating system repairs
Heating system replacement
Other energy-saving improvements

Some households may also qualify for free appliance replacement through a partner program. Available appliances may include:

Refrigerators
Washers
Dehumidifiers
Window air conditioners

The Blackstone Valley Community Action Program (BVCAP) is a non-profit agency and a member of the nation-wide network of Community Action Programs. Our mission is to assist low-moderate income people and empower them to become self-reliant, responsible citizens. Our programs are funded through federal, state and local grants.

Each year BVCAP serves over 12,000 families living in Pawtucket, Central Falls, Cumberland, Lincoln and Woonsocket. Our staff of over fifty people reflects the ethnic diversity of our community, enabling us to be sensitive to our clients’ culture and language, and to provide them with the best possible support.
